Spotlight Story: CPR Save

December 2023

Anyone involved in EMS knows that it’s rare for us to learn what happens to our patients once we get them to the hospital. But once in a while, we get to be part of a great story.

Last month, Nate (center) was doing some Christmas light work for his company (owned by Jack and Kyle on the ends) when he was quite literally electrocuted. Randolph Rescue responded with Brenden and Eli (second from left and second from right) who found Nate in cardiac arrest. They performed CPR, applied a BVM to breathe for Nate and delivered multiple shocks via the defibrillator. Nate achieved what is referred to as ROSC — return of spontaneous circulation.

Nate, Jack and Kyle attended our January general meeting to share their story and were able to thank Brenden and Eli for their lifesaving efforts.

We also want to thank the Randolph PD for their assistance on scene and thank Nate, Jack and Kyle for sharing this emotional story. We’re proud of Brenden and Eli and proud to serve the Randolph community.
